Why does my credit score say I'm deceased?

Hey everyone,

I hope you're all doing well. So, I recently got my very first credit card from Capital One, and I was pretty excited to start building my credit. Everything was going fine until I decided to check my credit score using the creditwise feature on the Capital One app.

To my shock, I saw this weird message pop up saying there's a 'deceased indicator' on my credit file. What in the world does that even mean? Apparently, it's like my Social Security Number has been reported as 'deceased' to the SSA or a lender. Now, I don't know if I accidentally goofed up my SSN while signing up for the card, or if Capital One messed something up on their end.

I'm kind of freaking out because I have no idea if this is a common issue or if I'm in some sort of trouble. Has anyone else faced this? I tried looking for information and stumbled upon this https://www.jobcase.com/questions/1d41101c-ead9-41c9-8e7d-68fef515aaf4, but I'm still confused and worried.

Has anyone been through this before, and how did you solve it? I would really appreciate any advice or insights you could share. Thanks a bunch!
